Dee Poet and Midknights met at a party while attending the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Dee Poet was deejaying the party and Midknights was looking for a crew to rhyme with. After establishing a long-time friendship, life took them in separate directions. They re-connected at a wedding and somebody suggested they give music one more shot. They looked at each other and said "Why not?"
